Technophobia

Had lunch with "Zeena", after which I tried to show her how to use her new email account to send and receive mail. She hates computers and has no instincts about how to use one. Nothing makes sense to her, and she's terrified to try anything, so she has to memorize everything but as soon as something changes, she's lost. Quite fascinating to witness. Only reason she's trying to do email is to communicate less expensively with her son in Bali.

Ran into our former "whoop! whoop! mayor Bud Clark. Always good to see him. For about the third time he took down my email address and threatened to send me some photo or other. I forget now what it was, it's been so long ago.

Out to dinner tonight, H's bribe to get me to accompany her to an art opening in Beaverton. I'm in the mood for going out actually. Getting my 1000 words done so early this morning put me in a good mood for the rest of the day.

Looking forward to the game tomorrow. It starts late afternoon, so I should be able to get writing done first. The book draft is going so well at the moment, want to keep the energy going.
