This fine Danish film by Billie August is the prequel to Twist and Shout, which I noted earlier. Here the kids are in school, and we have a bad-kid-influences-good-kid drama, in which petty crime leads to more serious activity. An ordinary plot but the richness of character and subtext sets this drama apart from most in the genre. This may be even better than its companion piece. Thanks to a Danish friend for turning me on to these.
