Super Bowl

The Super Bowl is not high on my list of sporting events. Not close to March Madness, the Summer Olympics, the Triple Crown, the Army-Navy game, the World Series. Too much surrounding the Super Bowl has little to do with football, especially the halftime show, a pop culture extravaganza that lasts way too long. Too much hype, too much bullshit, for me. Now and again there's a game worth watching like today, but at halftime I'll be doing something else. I'll begin the countdown to March Madness, perhaps the best sporting tournament of all. First, of course, comes the wonderful trip to L.A. for the opera. Can't wait.
