More Cold War / Berlin Wall research this morning, this time in the archives of the New Yorker (I own the complete set). Found about a dozen articles I should look at for possible odds and ends I might incorporate. Interestingly enough, a search for Baumholder turned up nothing. This surprised me, given its reputation in Europe as a major Sin City at the time.
