Science and the humanities

I began my college studies as a math/physics major. My very first publication was in a mathematics journal when I was a sophomore at Cal Tech. I finally ended up with a BA in English from UCLA and MFA in Playwriting from the University of Oregon. I've had teachers and colleagues both in the sciences and the humanities.

In my limited experience, there are more folks in the sciences who are literate in the humanities than vice versa. There are more scientists with well rounded educations than literature professors.
