Snooping around the polls, it seems to me that if the election were today, Obama would win the popular vote and McCain would win the electoral college. Oh my. Obama has a lot of work to do. Maybe the debates will help. They made the difference for Kennedy, also a new kid on the block at the time. People feared his Catholicism the way some fear Obama's race. One problem, O seems to be much better at giving speeches to large audiences than speaking in the smaller informal setting of the TV debate. Of course, McCain can always lose it and save the day. That can happen at any time.
I can't even imagine what the Biden/Palin debate will be like. I'm not sure I have the stomach to watch it.
