Boise State 43, Oklahoma 42

The Fiesta Bowl out-Hollywooded Hollywood with its improbable ending combining several successive trick plays -- a pass-lateral for a touchdown, and soon thereafter a statue-of-liberty play for a winning two-point conversion -- and, if this weren't Hollywood enough, a postgame proposal with the star running back on his knees asking his cheerleader girlfriend to marry him. Wrote ESPN:

A football movie script played out on the real gridiron in the Fiesta Bowl on Monday night. The funny thing is, if it was an actual movie, the ending may not have been considered very believable.

But Boise State perfectly executed a few trick plays late in the fourth quarter and in overtime to defeat Oklahoma, 43-42, in one of the best finishes in recent memory. After scoring the winning two-point conversion, Boise State running back Ian Johnson proposed to his girlfriend to complete the fairytale ending. She accepted, by the way.

Yep, they do things differently in Idaho.
