Well, here we go again ...

Just chatted on the phone with the agent from Chicago, who wants to rep my screenplays. The usual "you're a good writer" stuff but what turned the trick for me is that her favorite two of the five were my favorite two of the five, The Brazen Wing and Sad Laughter, which may give us similar tastes, which is always nice when working with someone. So a contract is being mailed today and if it's standard, I'll sign it. And I have somewhere to send the new screenplay.

She's also a realist, which I appreciate, no pie in the sky bullshit. Initial good vibes about this -- but the gods know, I have a ton of experience in this sort of thing and have been wrong before. But my plan of writing four screenplays this year becomes more practical with an agent with a track record. I hope this works out but it's not the end of the world if it doesn't. I hate to quote Ms. Wie but "what happens, happens."
