A fine Danish film
Checked out Twist and Shout, the Billie August film recommended at Nurse Fusion's blog some weeks ago. A good film, and one that fools you. It starts out like a charming coming-of-age story about young love and teenage angst but innocence gets lost soon enough and in "the world of experience" we get close to tragedy until a convincing upbeat ending evolves out of the central focus of male friendship. There's a companion piece that includes the same characters earlier in life but it sounded too gritty for my mood, so I started here. Recommended.
