Challenge to a young screenwriting student

The failure of Scenario surely was a result of miscalculating its audience. It was published as a glossy color "coffee table" magazine instead of a specialized journal with a specialized audience, which is what it should be. I think a new publication using the same format and motto ("the journal of screenwriting art"), which much less publication costs, and maybe even an online subscription journal, would succeed. A young ambitious screenwriting editor could make it happen. I'd try it myself if I were younger. There's a proven audience but it's small.

The Scenario formula was excellent. Publish:

• a classic screenplay
• 2 contemporary screenplays
• an unproduced screenplay by an established screenwriter, along with interview

Someone should pick up the banner and do it right!
