Amazing crowds

...already in D.C. for the inauguration. Incredible.

I have to say, standing among the millions of people who endured the cold and the crowds to see the man inaugurated, I was impressed by the solidarity of hope, and it wasn’t all racially based. It seems like every group can look at Obama and see in him a shared experience to bond over. Perhaps it’s the strength of the man that he can reach out to people from different backgrounds and circumstances and exude a sense of common ground. But I was suprised that so many would clamor to claim affinity with a black man in this country. It gives me some hope.
