The Return of the Soldier
From the early 1980s, this film is a faithful adaptation of the Rebecca West short novel I recently read, like so much, and am adapting myself. Indeed, this film is good enough that another faithful adaptation is not necessary. What I am doing, of course, is something different: instead of an historic setting, a modern one with only two locations, a low budget film in hopes of attracting young filmmakers on shoestring budgets who are looking for an engaging story. This certainly is one. But there's no point in remaking the historic adaptation. This does the job very well.
Woke to rain, the flirting visit of Spring this short. Maybe I can get some writing and editing done today with no temptation to work outside in the sun.
