Shame on us!

I find it shameful and inexcusable that some states require citizens to stand in line for hours, even hours and hours, to cast a ballot. Here in Oregon we've used the mail-in ballot for over a decade now, and it works quite well. There should be a Constitutional amendment to nationalize it -- at the very least, to make it an option. From the first Tuesday in October through the first Tuesday in November, mail in your ballot. If you still want to show up and vote in person, do. Why have lines? Why have weather affect democracy? Why engage prejudice against poor precincts that don't get enough services? None of this hassle is necessary.
