9/11 as it happened

I tried to watch the MSNBC special that rebroadcast the tape footage from 9/11/01 as it happened but I just couldn't, it was too painful and upsetting to view. But it was a reminder how important foreign policy is when we elect a President and Vice President -- and how "being just like one of us" is no qualification whatever for the skills needed in this dangerous world of ours. In her interview Palin demonstrated to my total satisfaction that she is unqualified to be a heartbeat away from deciding when and where this country goes to war. I find this possibility the most terrifying political possibility of the last half century. Watching 9/11 brings home this point in a dramatic way. Sarah Palin is not qualified to run the country and it doesn't matter if she's #2 on the ticket, she's still first in line. Maybe I'm naive, I probably am, but I cannot believe that a majority of Americans feel secure in giving her this kind of responsibility. I won't believe it till I see it.
