Songwriting

I finished my song. It's pretty mediocre but it's done, or I'm done with it, and I'll move on to another. A learning experience, let's say. The good news is I figured out workable harmony, including chords I never or seldom play, like F# or Bm. So I am learning some things. But the melodies in my head still sound better in my head than on paper, and I'm not sure what gets lost in the translation. Well, I'll keep plugging away at it.

I found an incredible, perfect book for me, that starts out simple enough for me to handle, as some books don't. It's called Improvising Blues. Really uses a method that makes sense to me. If I get through it, I'll really be able to play something.
