Friday Night Lights

TV and I don't see eye to eye. Every time I like a show, either it crashes or gets changed in ways I don't like. A new example is Friday Night Lights. I love the storytelling style of this show more than anything, a gritty approach between docudrama and home movies. Well, wouldn't you know it, the new season opened last night with a makeover, glitzy polish instead of gritty realism. And the opening credits suggested a new "Touched By An Angel" "spiritual" element. Puke. The entertainment industry's capacity to dumb down great product is astounding -- and consistent.
