I've decided on a summer music project. I know more than one person who will call it morbid. I'm going to see if I can write "A Requiem For Myself." The reason this isn't morbid, and in fact is optimistic, is that it will take some time to accomplish.
I've always admired Dos Passos, who in the papers collected after his death had a multi-novel project in the works. One wants to die with his boots on, so to speak. Anyway, music tidbits have been bouncing around in the brain, and they sure sound like a requiem to me. If it's not mine, whose is it ha ha?
