Browsing through the line of books on my Kindle, each awaiting attention, I'm overwhelmed by how little I've read for being a reader all my life. It's staggering how many books deserve attention -- and this excludes virtually all pop lit, which I consider a waste of my time (ah yes, I'm an elitist, tsk tsk). The Kindle books are mainly classics, some read before, many not. I get an even great sense of this whenever I visit Project Gutenberg.
Maybe we need a cultural tradition where only DEAD writers get read. Reduce the playing field etc.
But I'm enjoying the hell out of what I am reading.
