Agee's Brooklyn: A Photo Essay

I once made a special trip to Frenchtown, N. J. to stand in front of the building where Agee rented a room while he was working on his extraordinary book, Let Us Now Praise Famous Men . Great writers earn this respect.

JAMES AGEE's jottings on Brooklyn are quite a saga. This is a story framed by literary failure and literary recovery. Every writer should be so lucky.
