Today's highlight, which I'll watch live in a couple hours but doesn't get telecast by dumb NBC until late tonight. Rooting for Galen Rupp, of course.

Mexico beat Brazil for football gold, an upset and exciting game. Mexico scored in first 29 seconds, Brazil in added time at end, 2-1 the final.

I'm awed by synchronized swimming and rhythmic gymnastics. Can't imagine learning those skills. Not a fan, just in awe.

I can't get into Bolt and sprinters or basketball. Strikes me as domination by talented jerks. I'll take a giggly teenage swimmer anytime, innocence and all.

After 5000, the best thing left is men's marathon.
