Convalescence sucks

I've been prolific as hell as a writer (see archive), for almost half a century, which amounts to being a workaholic, or something close. So I'm not used to sitting around doing nothing, as I have been for the past two weeks. I've watched tons of Olympics, done a little reading, blogged, taken the dog for runs, cooked, ate.

Well, with the Olympics coming to an end, it's time to get into gear with less frivolous activity. I have an office to clean and redesign, school prep to do, a new book on which to start research and notes -- all of which can be done without using my left arm, which I have to use carefully for another month. (I screwed up big time once: in yesterday's soccer game, at the USA first goal, I raised both arms and yelled "Goal!", immediately realizing my error. Apparently I did no harm.)

The fear is, dislocating the wires so the pacemaker doesn't function. If this happens, I'm supposed to feel light-headed and listless like before. I still feel full of energy so I assume everything is all right. I also assume the monitor is monitoring, although it just sits there and isn't doing a thing that I can tell. I assume if something was wrong, the doc would contact me.

At any rate, Monday we begin the last sprint of summer, relatively speaking, and its time to be productive. Yes!
