I got through the reading and sold a couple books but that's about it. Definitely going out not with a bang but a whimper. Eager now for the long weekend and getting back in the groove of the novel.

One nice surprise at the reading, a current student showed up, new to Portland from Seattle, her fiancee getting a tech job here. She's full of enthusiasm and already making progress from trying to learn the craft on her own, which is difficult since in the marketplace there's a lot of "competing" ideas that end up being semantic arguments. But if you don't know enough to know that, it can be very confusing.
