It's been a long time since I've made one of my signature dishes, a bowl of the soup of the wife of Kit Carson. That's what the recipe said in the TIME/LIFE book where I learned this as a grad student. I subscribed to their cookbook series then and was cooking all the time. And a few things I still remember.
I'll need to go to the store for ingredients tomorrow. Need to make a new batch of scrapple tomorrow too. Lots of project work to do, plus start reading a MFA novel, being on the author's committee. And yard work. I always end up writing, And yard work ha ha.
