"About 385 soldiers from the Oregon Army National Guard boarded eight buses at Joint Base Lewis McChord in Washington state at 4 a.m. today enroute to Bend after 10 months of service in Iraq.
The first troops arrived last Saturday after 10 months in Iraq. They underwent final briefings and medical exams before leaving in the chilly dark this morning.
Many soldiers fell back asleep on the buses as Patriot Guard Riders and other motorcycle clubs escorted the convoy home into Oregon."
