Google Earth

I finally downloaded Google Earth to see what all the fuss is about. I am completely blown away. I've never seen software like it. I mean, I'm speechless. It's powerful and amazing.

You've got me curious about Google Earth, Charles.

But before I agree and download, can you tell me what the software does?

Thanks, and Happy New Year.

Well, it has advanced and sophisticated uses I don't yet understand but it's simple "show off" use is this: you write down an address anywhere on Earth, say yours, and it instantly zooms over your house giving you a bird's eye view, and you can zoom in as close as you want, as far as you want, you can be on the roof of your house or 10,000 feet in an airplane. I even did this on my boyhood L.A. address, all but removed for a freeway, which I visited a couple years ago, and it has it down to the sycamore tree left standing that I used to climb! Now I'm going to try my Army base in Germany, anywhere I've ever lived. Great memory pusher, too. I find it astounding.

Thanks, Charles.
I'll give it a whirl.

Immediately after college, with a bunch of buddies I lived on a farm, very similar to your Salisbury situation.
Then, 5 yrs later, I moved to PDX.

Best,
