Fried green tomatoes

There comes a time each fall when you must admit the garden has seen better days and it's time to salvage what you can. This weekend was such a time. I picked green tomatoes and fried them for breakfast this morning, with syrup and served with scrambled eggs and bacon. Alas, I never got around to making fried squash blossoms this summer. Have to be on your toes to get the blossoms at the right moment, and I was too busy with the video camera to pay attention.

Chores and more chores to do today. Will try and make a dent. Dinner tonight with a former student and her husband, looking forward to it.
