Strokes

Class evaluations arrived, an unexpected email arrived, a day for strokes. Always nice and not all that frequent any more, so I cherish the ones I get. Provides ammo against the postpartum bomb ha ha. And against the email a while back in which I was called the worst teacher in the universe.
My name is [P. H.] and I am a fairly new member of Muvipix.com.  I just watched Deconstructing Sally and was truly moved and impressed and thought it would be irresponsible not to thank you for your work.
Isn't that a great attitude? From class evaluations:
This course was out of the ballpark the most useful writing course I have ever taken. He is an exceptional writing teacher. If only more students knew how useful this class really is for writing--anything!
Honestly, I adored this course. I spent so much time navigating through conflicting information trying to study this subject on my own and Professor Deemer made it all easy breezy. I feel that I can excel at this writing format now because of his instruction and fueled by his encouragement, I am eager to continue writing in this format... perhaps even pursuing a career in the field. I have much to thank Professor Deemer for, have already been singing his praises and look forward to part 2 of this course.
[I've posted negative evaluations here in the past (none this cycle) but haven't been able to find them in searches. I thought a zero-sum universe demanded equal time for them. At any rate, take my word that they exist.]

Since I change my syllabus every term, I'm still struggling to "get it right" and maybe never will. It is a perpetual mystery how some students love what you do and others do not.
