A pretty mellow day ahead, I think. Pick up my syllabus this morning. This afternoon read, especially giving feedback on a colleague's manuscript. Get that done before school starts.
Taking too damn long to get my POD copies for 2 readers who want hard copy. I mean, it's so FAST compared to how print copies used to be! but I'm spoiled by the instantaneous production of digital copies.
Went into storage yesterday in search of the script to Abigail & Harvey, my play that someone wants to do, and didn't find it, though I learned the actress who played Abigail has a copy. Anyway, while in there I discovered the most amazing things, a far out grad paper I wrote, some poems I published right after the Army and thought I'd destroyed, which is what they deserve, even though this LA small mag took them, some unpublished short stories from my coming of age year in North Portland, the Mississippi Ave address up there in the left corner, a script I did with kids at a camp at Wallowa Lake years and years ago ... man, I seem to have kept everything. A&H must be around somewhere -- probably buried somewhere in the chaos of my office since it's not in storage. I don't have the old DOS computer disks any more, think that's what I wrote it on originally. So long ago.
Need to get dressed and get moving. Lots of early morning work in my robe. Now I'm done ha ha.
I respect all four readers but I actually expect a wide spectrum of feedback. Strikes me as that kind of book. The form itself may irritate some people, while others may love it. Hard to say. I don't think anyone could convince me to change the form. It is what it is.
