lovers
is that they can share moments
so physically intense that the mind
which is to say consciousness
loses awareness of itself
and for a moment the lovers embrace
their animal natures
when language is grunting
and grunting is quite enough
and no one explains
anything
Unfortunately
not only do these moments
pass quickly
but for all their mystery
for all their mind-blowing possibility
drop out tune in and all that
these extraordinary moments
apparently have no consequences whatever
and life goes on
as if they never happened
