I swear to the gods, I'm enjoying this Wednesday morning so much I am almost giddy. This despite a gray drizzly day outside, so uninviting that I couldn't even lure Sketch, who normally leaps at the door when I ask Wanna go for a ride? but instead raced to the divan and took up a defensive position against the pillow, leaving me to make my coffee trip alone.
With my new teaching rhythm, Wednesday has become a day of renewal and relaxation, with no stress surrounding whatever work I may do. For example, I'm about to go to my basement office and input changes of my 200 pages from Kindle to PC. I have about 2/3 left to do, from the recent careful reading with notes I made. Not sure I'll get it done but I'll do this grunt work until I tire of it.
Over the holidays, I hope I can finish an actual draft of the book, complete. Then put it on Kindle to brood about through winter term. I believe in the book more than ever actually and the Occupy Portland movement has given the story a boot in the ass because it raises the same themes and issues already in the conflicts of the protagonist. Life imitating art. I also know the ending -- I've written the last vignette -- which really helps, a warm security blanket.
Well, time to go downstairs.
