China is snooping around, an investor interested in buying Yahoo! Why not? They own everything else we have, why not our Internet? These feeds into the "good old days" fantasy of "American exceptionalism" of our right wing, who don't understand the future, or the past, or the present. If we wanted to be a player, EDUCATION would be a very high priority. We have popular politicians believing man and dinosaurs walked the earth together, that's how much we give a hoot about education. We are writing the saddest farce in history, which few take seriously. My protagonist is driven by it.
I read Wednesday at Blackbird. Then our Big Literary Festival begins, where they couldn't find a reading spot for me. I still can't believe it. Well, not true. I can. Yep.
