Wednesday

My new classroom, blocks from campus, is fine and even has windows. I look forward to a good term.

A relaxed day to catch up on various things, from paying bills, making scrapple, reengaging the outside-in project.

Audio book: listening to In the Spirit of Crazy Horse, this on the heels of Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee, sort of a continuation of CJ after the novel is done. What would happen if a country actually owned up to its true history?

Of course, nothing new here. Just relatively hidden. It was Mark Twain who said, in effect, Bury My Heart At Plymouth Rock, with his Pudd'nhead Wilson calendar entry about Columbus Day: "October 12, the Discovery. It was wonderful to find America, but it would have been more wonderful to miss it."

An extraordinary comment!
