Watching TV as police in riot gear move back a crowd. The reserve of the police is extraordinary. Astounding! And protesters interviewed see police brutality, outrageous force, etc. Well, everybody has a camera, everybody is taking video, so let's see it. I am astounded at the reserve of the police, quite frankly. But maybe it's going on elsewhere. Let's see some evidence.
KATU is doing a hell of a job, and so did KEX radio last night, early morning. KATU is the only local TV station covering this. Can't stop football or ice skating.
It looks to me like my prediction of the issue becoming law and order is coming true. I think this off-message energy was started by the protesters, not the police, though it's always gray in confrontations like this.
Keep Portland weird? Well, may the gods bless Occupy Portland. May the gods bless the police. It's a great show but I've seen it already. And guess what? The show ended and precious little changed.
