Managed to catch the end of the Mariners game last night. They came back from 1-0 to win 4-1, Lopez hitting a bases loaded HR in bottom of 8th and Hernandez throwing a complete game for the win, striking out the last batter. Fans loved it.
And here's the point. The Mariners are in last place, 16 games out, pretty much have kissed off the season by trading away Lee, their best pitcher this season -- and yet Safeco Field was packed with 42,000 fans. A full house supporting a team in the cellar. That's what I love about Seattle baseball fans. If we were wealthy, what fun to have a condo on the waterfront and walk to see the Mariners play.
The older I get, the more I think money IS everything ha ha.
