Now that we're playing in fiddle keys in banjo class, a capo is needed -- including for the 5th string. Pro's have screws/spikes put into the neck but there are options. I tried two and like one very much.
First I tried the suspender capo, which works pretty well. But it's a tad unstable. So I tried the Reagan screw, and this does the trick. Easy, convenient and inexpensive. Perfect.
So here are two workable, inexpensive alternatives to screwing something into the banjo neck.
