Charles Deemer teaches screenwriting at Portland State University. He is a playwright, novelist, screenwriter, and pioneer in hyperdrama. He was the editor of Oregon Literary Review and the artistic director of Small Screen Video.

Peter Fornara was my uncle. I just happened upon your blog when I saw his name and was wondering what book you are referring to - is it a book on Oregon in which he mentioned? My father and I would love any information you could provide. Thank you!

The book is a collection of essays celebrating Oregon (for its 150th birthday) that will be published by Oregon State University Press later this year. I don't know its title but Matt Love is the editor. There may be a listing at the press website. My essay is called "Risk in Rep: Remembering Peter Fornara’s Remarkable Theater Company." If you contact me this summer, maybe the book will be out by then.

I was feeling nostalgic and googled the fearless leader aka Peter Fornara. and lo ... this site pops up. I think back fondly on those days ... those heady days ... emboldened by youthful audacity and a brash love of the Portland air. I think back on your plays and revel in the memories. I am looking forward to this book.
