2 down

2 final files uploaded ... have 3rd ready as soon as A publishes so I know book address. Process would be quicker if A provided this before actual publishing. Now they publish, I immediately unpublish, add address to book file and re- upload. Wasted steps in there.

So I spend a lot of time waiting. Almost as bad as rendering video.

Say Charles, why not in your last year at PSU advocate for a Film Department.

I mean many of their film classes are taught in the English Department, some are even in the Theater Department.

You've got what? A waiting list for Fall Term? So the interest is there.

I bet a lot of students would like to get a BA or BS, even a BFA, maybe an MFA in film from PSU.

I think this is aleady in the works. It just takes institutions so long to DO anything. Back in the early 90s, before I started teaching at PSU, I proposed an online screenwriting class to them. They didn't think online teaching would work. Ends up, thru a grad student buddy now teaching at Eastern Ore Univ in La Grande, I proposed same to them -- and they said great! in 48 hrs! I never saw an institution move so swiftly. Ends up, being out in the boonies, they already had all the bases covered re online classes. So I taught it there until some years later when PSU called, asking if I'd start a regular class. But I know from experience, PSU moves very, very slowly to do anything new.

Very nice! Take film history, theory, and the writing, along with the production/post-production stuff and put it under one roof. I bet PSU could put together a more substantial program than either the NW Film Studies Center or the art school.
