Thanksgiving as metaphor

I've used Thanksgiving a lot in my work in various ways. Some examples:

• The Epistemological Uncle, a short story published in 1994 (and written ten years earlier).
• Thanksgiving, 1962, a chapter in my novel Sodom, Gomorrah & Jones.
• Reflections on Grief and Thanksgiving, a dramatic collage for four actors, performed at the Unitarian Church in the 1990s.
• Thanksgiving dinner as hyperdrama.
