My film got a compliment from a very unexpected source, a sound man in town, who said, wow! actual intelligible audio! And this is shocking because, of course, sound is ALWAYS the issue when I shoot since I use the minicam's built-in mic and nothing else, and the sound always sucks, mostly, but yes it is intelligible and I guess he's heard a lot of audio much worse than mine.
It will be a very long day, waiting for tonight.
