Holden calling

Received a phone call last night from a friend in L.A., who's reading the novel and just wanted to tell me how much she digs it and is hooked into the story after 50 pages. What a nice gesture! Just what Holden Caufield says to do in Salinger's novel. I'm especially pleased she's hooked so early because some readers might find the story slow to develop. Good news last night.
