I think I'll show a DVD today but make it optional. If students have finals they'd rather prepare for, fine. If everybody leaves, I'll leave but otherwise show the DVD, which is part of the series of long interviews with screenwriters.
I'll have about 4 hours to kill before office hours after my video taping. Lots of reading I can get done! I finished Doctorow, will write more about it here after I get my cable so I can download notes and excerpts. I started Philip Roth's first book, Goodbye, Columbus.
I rather like days when I go in early and have lots of time on my hands. I could see hanging out at a university no matter where I lived, just for the good ambiance of the place. On campus I feel a certain protection, or filter, from the general craziness in the land.
