Afghanistan Poll: Afghans Lose Confidence In U.S. & NATO Forces

It's tragic that we learn nothing from history. We are terrible at "winning the hearts and minds" of citizens whose countries we occupy, for whatever reason, and we are terrible at playing the long game, as opposed to the short game. We are good at beating the shit out of someone quickly. Unfortunately, the Middle East now clearly will be even worse than Vietnam, and we eventually will leave without accomplishing anything positive. Another tragic waste of lives and resources. As Pete Seeger used to sing, and probably still does, "When will they ever learn ...?"
