The curse

This damn Cold War novel still isn't working out. What I have are 75 pages that I like. It's occurred to me: maybe this isn't a novel but a novella. Maybe this is what I have, and what I need to finish is the ending, period. This isn't "act one" of a larger story, this is the story. Hmm. More brooding. A novella is fine. Totally unmarketable but then my novels aren't marketable much anyway, no big difference. I really do want this army material off my back.

Meanwhile, a more manageable project has come to mind. Endless ideas. Even at my age.
