An Oregon sports team doesn't often get the national spotlight, but today's College Football Preview on ESPN was taped from Autzen Stadium in Eugene, prior to this afternoon's showcase game against Arizona State. Moreover, all the commentators picked Oregon. I hope it isn't a jinx. I also hope the Ducks don't get too crazy in their uniform selection today. I like to root for them without squinting.
First, the Navy game. A good day for football. I'm cooking a batch of black-eyed peas for the occasion, which I'll serve up this afternoon with okra. Yum.
