100 pitches

If there is one thing that puzzles me about modern baseball, it's the unwritten rule to remove pitchers after 100 throws. Didn't used to be this way. Seems it just bites you, as in the Mariners game just now. Strong scoreless pitching for 7 innings, scoreless game, so let's take out the pitcher because he's thrown 99 times. Houston immediately scores twice on new pitcher. I blame the manager.
