LIfe's irony
One thing that has bugged me all my life is this. As a writer, I try very hard to tell small truths about human experience. Now and again someone reads something and admires it. Then later this same person, in a context involving some personal issue with me, behaves in a way that shows absolutely no understanding whatever of the very small truths in question. It's as if the person regarded the fictional work as FICTION, that is, as having nothing to do with actual human experience, as having nothing to do with me. Nothing is more insulting.
