Alpha Smart, the writer's tool

I've praised this incredible keyboard before but not lately. In fact, since getting a netbook I haven't used the Alpha Smart much. But that's about to change. I need to take notes as I'm listening to the audio Walden and the AS is much more convenient than the netbook for writing. And I can easily transfer to the netbook later for editing, going to blog and such.

700 hours on three AA batteries! Man, you really can't beat this small and flexible writing tool. And it is so inexpensive. They are made for kids, K-12 projects, but first international journalists discovered it, loving its battery life and easy battery replacement, then other writers. One of the great sleepers in technologyland, this.
