Fan rebellion

I almost want to say "cute." But it's good for the soul to be burned by hype. School of hard knocks and all that.

'Twilight' fans feel bitten by vampire series' finale

In romance, the chase is everything, so you'd expect some letdown with the conclusion of Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" series, the teen vampire romance set in Forks. But the grumblings over "Breaking Dawn" go deeper.

Fan sites are abuzz with anger and frustration – to the point that some readers have urged disappointed fans to return their copies (rather than burn them, as some other readers have suggested).

Disappointed fans say the book is rambling and poorly written, that plot elements are illogical – how can a vampire, the living dead, father a child? – that characters are askew and the book's tone is out of sync with the rest of the series.
