I saw something unusual today. I find it fascinating during the award ceremonies at the Olympics to see which athletes sing, and which do not, their national anthems. I would say Americans are more apt than others NOT to sing the anthem, or mumble it at best. Not cool or something.
But here are four young American women, ages 17 to 23, getting their golds for the swimming medley and positively singing their hearts out! I mean, to see such enthusiasm in singing The Star Spangled Banner was rare enough for me to do a double-take.
Can you picture the American basketball team singing?
