Enjoying the hell out of the PBS documentary about folk music in Greenwich Village in the sixties. Man, I had forgotten how incredibly good Maria Muldaur was at the time! My own favorite came before the 60s folk tsunami, Barbara Dane, semi-blacklisted because of her leftist politics in the 50s. But Muldaur is right up there with her.
But there are some missing giants here, especially "the Mayor of MacDougal Street," Dave Van Ronk and also Ramblin' Jack Elliott, who showed up from an extended stay in England and Europe (being ahead of the curve) and took the clubs by storm.
